Katrina Hannah has been practicing yoga since 1989 and teaching since 1997. She combines a background in Elementary Education with an R.Y.T. from Yoga Alliance. Katrina spent 12 years as the lead teacher for the Yoga program at UC Santa Barbara. After training with Erich Schiffmann, Bryan Kest, Rod Stryker, Lisa Wolford, Saul Raye and Dr. Robert Svoboda, Katrina obtained a 200 hour level R.Y.T. in 2000 and began teaching professionally in Little Rock. In 2002, she relocated to Santa Barbara, California where she managed Santa Barbara Yoga Center while developing the Child’s Pose Project. Child’s Pose originated in the Hope School District in 2003 with grades K-6 and grew to include Harding Elementary, Laguna Blanca Upper School, Carpinteria Family School, and UCSB. While based in Santa Barbara, Katrina continued her study of Ayurveda and Jyotish with Dr. Svoboda. She draws heavily from Ayurvedic principles to deliver classes that help students understand the basic concepts of Ayurveda and its use to establish and maintain health and wellness. She offers workshops on Ayurvedic Diet and Skin Care. She now resides in Tamarindo, Costa Rica where she offers public and private classes to yogis of all ages and abilities.
